When stakes are high...

Here's a piece I did back in 2009 that I've just recently color-separated for apparel application. It helps strongly define the meaning behind Ugly Hero because it conveys the reality and truth that sometimes necessary actions and measures need to be taken in order to defend and protect. It dwells in the gray area between 'right' and 'wrong', and as the brand's name suggests - ugly hero, wherein heroes don't always appear to be perfect and aren't always praised. The three characters appear to dress like civilians, but armed for necessary action.
