I'm glad to end my blogging hiatus on the coolest note. This year I not only got Benny Gold socks, snapback, shirt, and windbreaker from Maureen...she also got Benny Gold himself to write a personal letter of motivation! Benny Gold, obviously one of my most favorite brand hailing the bay, was cool enough to return an email from Maureen agreeing to write me a letter. It reads:

Happy Holidays! You have a great girlfriend - she asked me to write you a personal note w/ her gift to you. She said that you want to start your own brand - that's great! It's a lot of fun! Make sure it's from the heart! Takes it slow and let it grow organically. Start with a few shirts, stickers, and whatever else fits - give it to homies and make friends with your local shop. This year's definitely not the easiest in terms of school, work, and everything in between, but with prayers and diligence (which still needs much work) I got through it - not by myself, but with friends, family, Maureen, and most especially God. Lots of trials, worries, and feeling of helplessness came but so have blessings - and I'm glad to have a blessing like her. Finishing this fall semester was so hard and tiring, but she and I made it. 2012 will be another trial by fire and fitness of the heart, mind, body, and faith will be strengthened.
Here's an early start to the new year. Aspire, pursue, and stay gold.
