The Toyota FT-86 Concept, a platform reminiscent of the decade-old Supra, debuts in the Tokyo Motor Show. With all the hype around performance hybrids, Toyota takes another look at the targeted consumer - car enthusiasts...not hybrid enthusiasts. This model is conceived to have a front-mounted engine and rear-wheel drive, but is rumored to have a possible all-wheel drive drivetrain with Subaru in the work. Further progress in the finalization of the concept, an STi trim may be developed with wider tracks, bigger wheels, and a possible STi boxer engine. Big talk is going around about this concept, but only time will tell. Possible release by 2012.
