The day we will never forget.

I think I was in 7th grade. I went to school as usual and found my homeroom teacher's eyes swollen from watching the television mounted on the ceiling. Confusion was my first emotion - seeing nothing but smoke, debris, and people running in different directions on the streets of New York. Every station was flooded with different angles of the scene. Never had I seen so much panic. My teachers turns it off, seemingly close to the brink of bursting out into a steadier stream of tears. I, myself, was close to letting it out but I couldn't. Fear and anger ruled my mind, with anger being eminent. Days and weeks passed by, but everything was far from calm and collected. As human beings, cursed with pride, vengeance was the first on our nation's to-do list. War was waged (and so were lives from both sides) and hasn't ceased up to this day. At schools and work, time is set aside for a moment of silence to recollect and remember the day when the air above the twin towers became blank, with only bits and pieces that remained afloat of the glass and metal from the twin towers, from A.A. flights 11 & 77, and U.A. flight 175. Cries and wail from despair from this tragic incident (not accident, for it was well-planned and executed as intended) still haunts Ground Zero. We've been moving on. Reparations and reconstruction. Though we progress and deal away with the past, it will never leave our memories.

This goes out to those who've departed from us on that day (though they do not hear our farewells, it's the least to ease our fear and heartache), to their families, and to their friends - To us. This especially goes out to the firefighters, blue coats, and volunteers that risked their lives without even a split second of hesitation.

I'll recall and remember as I pump my fist up, not for pride, but for hope.
I'll never forget that day 7 years ago.

Love.Peace.

Yours with infinite love,
